FAQ

1. How do I get a library card?

Proof of current address is needed to obtain a library card. A photo ID, such as a license with a correct address is preferred. If your license does not have your correct address, your license and a bill, lease, or other item with your current address will be accepted.

Children under the age of 18 need a parents signature to obtain a library card. The parent will need proof of address. Children also need to have a signed permission slip on file with the library to use computers. Parents must come into the library to sign the permission slip.

2. How do I renew books online?

From the online catalog, click on "Patron Account." Enter the barcode from your library card (include the D, don't put in any spaces) and password (the last four digits of your phone number). Once in your account, you can click on "items out," check the items you wish to renew and click "renew selected items."

If the computer will not renew the item it is either over the renewal limit or a hold has been placed on it by another patron. The item will not be able to be renewed.

Please try to renew items online, or over the phone. Do not email the library with renewal requests. We may miss an email request and the item will not be renewed on time.

3. How do I place a hold online?

From the online catalog, after you have found the item you want, click on "place hold request." Enter your barcode and password. Click on "submit request." You will be given a message confirming that the request has been placed.

If a request will not go through, it is most likely that the item is New and the loaning library is reserving it only for their patrons.
